A RARE PARTIALLY BOXED .44 (RUSSIAN) SIX-SHOT REVOLVER, MODEL 'NEW MODEL No3,' serial no. 11988. COMPLETE WITH SHOULDER-STOCK,
circa 1880, with nickel-plated 6 1/2in. barrel, raised sighting rib signed 'SMITH & WESSON' together with the address and patent dates to December 1877, ending in the wording 'REISSUE JULY 25 1871', pinned crescent fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the barrel-latch, fluted cylinder, break-open frame with automatic ejection, early type ejector housing with toothed cam-wheel, chequered walnut grips, the back-strap with aperture for shoulder-stock, the heel with small groove for same, colour-hardened trigger-guard bow and hammer, the whole retaining virtually all its original plated finish and appearing little used; TOGETHER WITH its boxed walnut shoulder-stock, the green paper covered card carton bearing an orange label at one end reading 'SMITH & WESSON, EXTENSION '44' STOCK, SINGLE ACTION NICKEL', the stock in fine condition with nickel-plated attachment and hard rubber chequered heel-plate with central 'S&W' trademark, also appearing little used
